Carmen is a social impact strategist, specializing in organizational development, change management, and corporate impact program design.

With over 20 years of experience at the intersection of social impact and technology, Carmen brings first-hand experience and a human-centered approach to her work.

Nonprofit

After fundraising for fun, Carmen joined Holy Family Day Home, a early childhood education and family services organization in the Mission District, in the development office. In her time there, she had the privilege to wear many hats, including grant writer, major donor officer, marketing contributor, and more. After moving to the corporate world, Carmen continued her direct involvement with nonprofits by joining the Board of Directors for Valley Clean Air Now and Community Data Partners. Additionally, she plays an active role in the Parent Teacher Organization, fundraising over $300,000 a year for the students, families, and staff of her local school.

Corporate

After working in fundraising, Carmen was one of the first 250 employees at Salesforce.org, where she had the opportunity to work closely with nonprofit organizations leveraging Salesforce technology. In 2017, she moved into a role to create and manage the Tech Grant Program, which allowed her to dive deeper with strategic nonprofit organizations. In this role, Carmen was able to help organizations evaluate their organizational readiness for technology change and develop change management strategies. She also participated in the development of the disaster response protocols and lead the initial Salesforce Accelerator iteration. In her time at Salesforce, Carmen was able to act as a consultant to nonprofits of all sizes, areas of service, and geolocation, which translates into her expertise at DoWell.

Carmen lives in the Bay Area with her husband, children, and two cats. She enjoys cooking, hiking, yoga, and being active in her local community as a Girl Scout Troop leader and PTO President.
